Ask a GP gives you access to qualified New Zealand GP's who can answer your health-related questions.

Simply type your question, attach any supporting documents and click submit. Your question will be assigned to one of our team of GP’s who will conduct research and reply with a detailed response. Our doctors will also help you to identify if any of our other services can help you to manage your medical condition.

This service is designed to complement, not replace, your regular doctor. For prescriptions or referrals, you’ll still need to see your treating doctor.

Who can use this service?

All UniMed Members* have access to this service at no additional cost.

How does it work?

Once you've completed the form one of our GP's
will respond to your query. Your information
remains private and confidential. UniMed will not
see this report unless you choose to share it.

  • 1 Submit your questions

    Submit your non-urgent medical questions via our
    portal. Ask as many questions as you need.

  • 2 Get answers to your medical questions

    The assigned GP will submit a written response to
    your portal account, usually within 1 business day.
    You will be notified by email when the response is
    ready. This is general medical advice only.

  • 3 Additional Support

    If appropriate, the GP may recommend other
    benefits available to you.

You can ask our GP’s any questions about your health
from the comfort of your own home.
